ASRock ha presentato la nuova mainboard di fascia alta 990FX Extreme 9 con socket AM3+ e destinata quindi a CPU AMD, con particolare attenzione ai modelli FX. Onboard troviamo il chipset 990FX in coppia con il SB950, supporto ai Processori fino a otto core e un VRM a 12+2 fasi; la memoria RAM supportata è di tipo DDR3 in Dual-Channel con frequenze fino a 2450 MHz (in overclock), mentre i 4 Slot PCI-E 2.0 x16 ci permetteranno di sfruttare le tecnologia Nvidia 3-way SLI e AMD 3-Way CrossFireX.[....]
Per quanto riguarda il reparto connettività, la scheda madre ASRock 990FX Extreme9 prevede una porta LAN gestita dal chip Intel 82583V Gigabit, audio 7.1 Realtek ALC898, ben otto interfacce SATA 3 (6 Gbps) e 8 porte USB 3.0.
